Craig has extensive experience dealing with people who face difficult circumstances as he previously practised in personal injury law representing clients with serious and debilitating injuries. Prior to joining Paterson and Dowding in 2006, he ran his own law firm and was previously a founding partner in a personal injury, family law and insurance firm for over 10 years. He has experience with parenting issues but his focus is now mainly on property matters.
Craig has practised in family law since the early 1990's and accepts instructions in all property related matters ranging from small estates to financial disputes involving such things as:
- Family Trusts
- Unit Trusts
- Trading Companies
- Businesses
- Partnerships
- Splitting of both self managed and institutional superannuation funds
Craig recognises the importance of obtaining independent expert advice in areas such as valuations, taxation and forensic accounting. He works together with such experts to ensure the identification of all assets in order to ensure an accurate division of those assets.
Craig is an experienced negotiator. He enjoys working closely with his clients to identify tactics and strategies to bring about an early settlement. Although his approach is initially focused on negotiation and settlement, Craig recognises that sometimes court proceedings are inevitable. Should a matter proceed to court, Craig is more than capable of ensuring that his clients receive robust representation to ensure the best possible outcome.
