Eric has been with Paterson and Dowding for over ten years and is presently the Managing Partner of the firm.

Eric's practice focuses on the financial and children's aspects of family law disputes. His expertise in areas such as company, trusts, partnerships and superannuation law enables him to assist clients to resolve disputes and where possible, reach agreement in relation to the division of their assets. Eric is a qualified Independent Children's Lawyer and has extensive experience in complex matters relating to the care arrangements for children, including matters involving international child abduction, allegations of sexual and other forms of abuse.

Eric is an experienced negotiator who is well able to assist clients during what can often be emotionally charged times. Eric is also able to provide advice to clients who wish to enter into mediation directly with a former partner.

Eric appears in the Family Court on a regular basis. His experience and knowledge of the law means that his clients are represented by a specialist who is well equipped to assist clients' understanding of and participation in the Family Court process. Eric also works closely with other lawyers and barristers to ensure that clients receive the best representation tailored to each case.
