Melissa joined Paterson and Dowding after having spent time working both in country and metropolitan law firms.

Melissa focuses on financial matters including property settlement, and spousal maintenance issues. Her expertise enables clients to identify the nature and extent of the relevant assets and liabilities so that she can advise fully upon the likely outcomes should the matter proceed to a court hearing.

Melissa also acts for clients in resolving the often difficult and sensitive issues that can arise between parents who do not live together, such as where their children should live, how much time should be spent with the other parent and how the children can move easily from one household to another.

Melissa's experience extends to representing clients in recovery and relocation applications when children have been taken interstate or moved elsewhere in the State. She has also dealt with cases involving allegations of child abuse.

Melissa is also one of a handful of solicitors in Western Australia who is qualified to practice in the area of Collaborative Law.
