A protection order is a court order that Department of Communities can apply for through the Children’s Court for any children under the age of 18 years that require care and protection from their current living situation.
Once an application is filed, interim protection orders can be made by the Magistrate about issues such as where the child lives, who the child has contact with and for how long.
There are four types of protection orders:
As a parent, you can file responding documents with the Childrens Court asking the Magistrate to cancel a final order.
